tissue paper
when you laugh
you are soft cream skin

no pockmarks for you)

and lace gloves from hot topic

(over the ear
not to keep noise out
but ideas in)
you are magnifique
in your substance
the way your ideas ravel
and you comfort me over a crackly tinfoil landline
even though it's my fault
(because we couldn't give you a lift)
(sitting in the shower corner
what do you mean, what tears,
i'm sorry)
and i also apologise for approving a clingy girl
(she didn't deserve you anyway)
and i love you for sleeping with my feet in your face
and for loud rain on a metal roof
(or maybe its somebody tap dancing)
and greasy pizza and pirates
and stolen chocolate kisses
(shoved into pockets and taken upstairs)
and little felt birds
that want to fly away
you are a marvel
     love
